Halloween and Sugar Painting

Halloween is the kids’ favorite holiday in America, according to my question survey in class. And when asked reasons for loving Halloween, they provided the same answer “candies”.

Kids love candies and they also wonder whether Chinese kids have candies as many as they have here. I am not a candy person but I do show them a video of sugar painting  in the shape of a fish jumping out water, which evoked their interes in Chinese snacks and Chinese art because I tell them seriously that sugar painting now is an form of art now. Absolutely it is!

The real life of the Chinses commons is what both the kids and the other teachers would like to know about, and that is also what the Chinese teachers’ real job is.
